Lead Product Designer (m/f)

High-performance low-code software development leader. We turn big ideas into software that moves the world forward.

Product Designer

Job description

A global leader in modern development platforms, OutSystems is focused on enabling any organization to innovate through software. We are changing the way software is built with the low-code platform most preferred by developers and empowering organizations to create and deploy critical applications that transform their business rapidly. To support our growth and commitment to hiring exceptional performers, we are looking for a Lead Product Designer based in Europe (Remote).

As a Lead Product designer, you will collaborate with other product designers, UX researchers and content designers to design the user experience for some of our most ambitious product initiatives in strong collaboration with our R&D development teams. You are familiar with Low-Code and No-Code software and have ideas on how to make them better, which allows you to discuss these ideas, from a user experience point of view, with engineers, when required.

R&D Product Design strives to build a product users fall in love with, applying some of the most recent practices in product research, ideation and design to create solid grounded experiences, which provide moments of delight.

Key Responsibilities

Be an advocate for the user experience practice, voicing user’s needs to the center of discussions and decisions, so we can build a product that is useful, intuitive, and desirable to our users.
Drive UX initiatives aligning with other roles outside of UX, such as Product Managers, Product Owners, Product Architects, Engineering teams, and Technical Writers.
Assess the success of the delivery by measuring success metrics, processing user feedback, and identifying improvement opportunities.
As a lead, you will have full ownership and autonomy throughout the entire design process: from problem definition, solution design to solution delivery and rollout & tuning.
Actively contribute to cultivating a design culture, inspiring a team of diverse talents to do the best work of their life. Some days this might be something fun and social. On other days you may mentor another designer on how to increase the impact of their work.
Ability to develop and communicate a clear and compelling strategic vision for product design, aligning it with the overall business goals and customer needs.
Proficiency in empowering and motivating a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages creativity, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
Capability to effectively manage relationships with key stakeholders, such as product managers, engineers, executives, and external partners.

Desired Qualifications And Skills

5+ years of experience working in UX or Product Design.
3+ years of experience working in the computer technology industry or in application development industry.
Experience in leading projects, ranging from planning, conducting research, delivering design solutions from conducting user research, running product design processes, and testing solutions.
Experience with some programming languages and IDEs are a big plus.
Experience with analytics tools such as PowerBI or Amplitude are also a big plus.
Experience working in cross-functional teams (e.g. design, product, engineering) with an Agile approach driving the design process from ideation to product delivery, launch and performance monitoring.
Either a degree in a UX-related field and professional experience with complex products, or a degree in Computer Science.
Be driven, flexible, and enthusiastic, bringing new and inspiring ideas to the table.
Proactivity, accountability and openness to change are valuable skills to navigate a fast paced environment like ours.
Great communication skills.
Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
